Isabelle BEAUBIEN

Isabelle Beaubien uses atypical tools to create puzzling artworks that make us question their nature. Her textured paintings give us the impression of seeing digital prints or collages. The artist uses a combination of acrylic enhanced with resin to create surprising and dazzling effects on tondos dripping with colors. Her painting application method is a quick and mastered gesture, with an expressive and relaxed force.

Isabelle Beaubien lives and works in Drummondville since 2018, after having resided in France, England and Florida, from 2001 to 2019. Her different art trainings at l’École supérieure des beaux-arts Cornouille at Quimper, France (2001), University Concordia – Major in painting and drawing and Minor in psychology, Montreal, Canada (2004), l’École Nationale Supérieure d’Art de Nice, France (2007), and at the London School of Photography, United Kingdom (2010) formed her into a professional artist. Since 2015, she has presented her works in more than twenty contemporary art fairs in Europe, Asia and the United States. She has had more than thirty solo and group exhibitions, and her artworks are now part of many public and private collections in Quebec and abroad.
